YouthFirst is a youth employment program in partnership with Vancouver Public Schools, Evergreen Public Schools, LaCenter School District, Ridgefield School District, and Battle Ground Public Schools that provides students an opportunity to earn part-time wages while also receiving credit toward graduation. While in YouthFirst, students receive career matched mentoring, the confidence to succeed and a sense of "service above self."
YouthFirst is helping high school junior and seniors in the Vancouver Public Schools, Evergreen Public Schools, LaCenter School District, Ridgefield School District, and Battle Ground Public Schools graduate, experience work and step forward into successful lives in this early community intervention preventing the cycle of poverty. Students in YouthFirst are referred by their School Districts.
Students meet with Mentors in the student's field of interest.
Mentors share their experiences and words of wisdom, and in many cases ignite the spark that pushes the student to explore that career path. We call this the "magic" of the YouthFirst program.
Hear from the YouthFirst Students directly as they share how the YouthFirst program has impacted their lives.
Veterans learn small scale farming techniques through the Roots to Road Program at Heritage Farm on 78th St. in partnership with Clark County. This program allows the veterans to heal, work in teams and reintegrate into civilian life.
