Adults & Families
We work with hundreds of families and individuals to help them become economically self-sufficient. Our programs provide employment readiness services to low-income to families in Clark County through job training, work experience, and individualized assistance. We strive to adults and parents stabilize their families and envision a pathway to success.
Our Community Jobs program serves parents with dependent children on public assistance. PIC staff work with parents in a four to six-month program to provide job training, job search, work experience and to address challenges such as health and legal issues. Career Academy provides one on one support for job seekers. In the program, participants learn job search strategies and skills such as finding jobs to apply for, applications, resumes, cover letters, and interview practice. Career Academy participants have access to transportation support and PIC technology lab to support their job search process. Short Term Trainings will be created in partnership with local businesses to provide targeted and personalized assistance in job training and preparation. These training courses will provide hands-on opportunities to learn new skills and explore in-demand career opportunities. The goal is to help build pathways for job seekers and create a pipeline of qualified candidates for local employers. Please see the calendar for upcoming trainings.
